Hand-dyed Batik quilt fabrics
What is a Batik fabric?
With a batik fabric, parts of the fabric are covered with wax, so that the dyes cannot penetrate into the cloth. This allows many different patterns to be made on the fabric. Fabrics can be waxed multiple times during the process and dyed multiple times, creating intricate patterns and sometimes causing multiple figures to be painted on top of each other. Because the entire fabric is placed in the dye during dyeing, the fabric is dyed through and can be used on both sides of the fabric.
Because Batiks are hand-dyed, irregularities may occur
