Use the beeswax to make thread stronger and to prevent yarn from tangling while hand sewing. The thread becomes smoother, making it easier to slide through the fabric and less likely to wear out. This means you don't have to use special hand quilting thread.

Place the yarn in one of the openings and pull it through until there is a thin layer of wax on the wire.
